1.0 Application of these Rules

    1.1 All Rules on this page apply to all Members of Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club & All Visitors playing on any of the Clubs Fields and/or during Club organized Games.

2.0 Application of New Members to Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club

    2.0.1 In order for a new member to join the Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club the following procedure will be followed

    2.0.1.a Any player or person must apply for membership by filling out all appropriate forms and deliver these forms to any club officer.

    2.0.1.b The club officer will submit the application to the club at a club meeting and the club will review the application and schedule an interview with the applicant.

    2.0.1.c Any club officer shall interview the applicant.

    2.0.2 After the club officer has submitted the application to the club and the applicant has been interviewed, the club shall vote of acceptance of the applicant into the club. The applicant must have 51% of the club vote yes to be accepted into the club.

    2.0.2.a Once a applicant is accepted into the club they are placed on 30-day probation, during this time the new member cannot attend any non-club games representing the club, nor can they sponsor any new members to join.

    2.0.3 A Person shall apply to join the club if they are 18 years of age or older. Minors under age 18 years of age shall apply to join with parental permission.

    2.0.4 Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club Reserves the Right to accept or refuse any applicant to join the club and we base these decisions on a candidates skills, attitude, understanding of safety, and club opinions of the candidate.

    2.0.5 Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club is an equal opportunity club. We do not base our decisions in 2.4 on Race, Color, Age, Sex, National Origin, and Religion.

2.1 Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club Board Members

    2.1.1 Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball club members shall elect club board members on during the preseason club meeting each year.

    2.1.2 The club board members shall consist of five board positions; President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Communications Director & Recruiting Director.

    2.1.3 All club board positions are for a term of 1 year.

2.1.4 Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club Board positions responsibilities.

    2.1.4.a The Presidents job is to oversee the club as a whole in all actions; it is also the job of the president to act as the Media Relations Director for the club.

    2.1.4.b The Vice Presidents job is to asst the President in all club functions and acts as the president in the event that the president is absent.

    2.1.4.c The Secretary / Treasurer’s job is to handle all record keeping for the club including recording of club meeting minutes, it is also the job of the treasurer to maintain a record of all transactions that a cure to the club finances.

    2.1.4.d The Communications director’s job is to handle all communications for club members at club events including hand signaling, radio communication, and any other communication needed.

    2.1.4.e The Recruiting Director’s job is to promote the club in such a way that it expands our club membership while remaining within the club recruitment rules defined in our club rules.

    2.1.5 The Board of directors shall set a yearly membership fee for all of the membership to pay at the first meeting of each year. This fee shall be used to fund all services of the club.

    2.1.6 Any member who does not have their membership fee paid for the year cannot play in any non-club games representing the club nor can they receive any club member services.

3.0 Terms & Definitions

    3.1 Safe Area's & Staging Area's: This is the area on each of the paint ball fields that members, visitors, and field staff alike may remove their goggles and masks and a area where BARREL PLUGS MUST BE INSERTED and where NO FIRING OF ANY WEAPONS IS ALLOWED. These areas will be exactly by field staff.

    3.2 Combat Zone: This is the area on each of the paint ball fields that members, visitors, and field staff alike MUST WEAR APPROVED PAINTBALL GOGGLES AND A MASK. This area is also the designated area that barrel plugs may be removed and paintball guns may be discharged. This area's includes (and is not limited to) the playing fields, the chronographing station. Field staff will exactly define the location and boundaries of these areas.

    3.3 Field Staff: This is any person including (but not limited to referee, ref, or safety officer) who is working at the designated paintball field within the official capacity and approval of the Club Board. All persons working as field staff will be defined and identified prior to the start of the day to all players.

    3.4 Member: This is any person that is a registered club member of the eastern Upper Peninsula paintball club and/or any of its charter clubs.

    3.4.1 Officer: This is any member of the Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball club that is of officer rank.

    3.5 Visitor: This is any person that is not a registered club member of the eastern Upper Peninsula paintball club and/or any of its charter clubs.

    3.6 Marker: This is any paintball gun that is on the field. Please see Rule 5.0 Approved Markers and Marker Limitations.

    3.7 Paint: This is any type of paintball being discharged from any Marker; the Field staff prior to playing must approve All Paint.

    3.8 Tank: This is any tanks of CO2, Nitrogen, or HPA

    3.9 Fill Station: This a either a club owned or privately owned CO2, Nitrogen, or HPA fill station for filling of tanks for the specific type of air. Only owners or authorized personal may use any of the fill stations.

4.0 Safety

    4.1 All Field staff instructions will be obeyed at all times

    4.2 Only goggles that are specifically designed for paintball may be used and must be approved by field staff, The goggles must have face protection (a mask), and the mask must at least cover the front of the face and the side of the head back just past the ear to provide adequate ear protection. Goggles are to be warn in all combat zones and must be put on and secured to the head prior to entering any of the combat zones. Goggles are to never be removed from the correct position (which is defined as covering the whole face and ears) at any time while a player is inside the combat zone.

    4.3 All Players are required to have barrel plugs. Barrel plugs must be inserted into the muzzle prior to entering safe areas and staging areas. Also all players must have their markers trigger safety on while inside any safe areas and/or staging areas.

    4.4 All Markers will be chronographed prior to the start of any game. Markers will be set no higher then 280 feet per second for day time play, and no higher then 250 feet per second for night time play. Also during organized club games and/or scenario games a field staff member will verify that you are firing at the correct chronograph velocity.

    4.5 No other weapons of any kind will be allowed on the fields and this includes but is not limited to (Knifes, blades, Incendiary, or Explosive devices. No alcohol is allowed on any of the fields, nor is any form of illegal substance under Michigan state law.

    4.6 Aggressive Physical contact between players is not permitted.

5.0 Approved Markers and Marker Limitations

    5.1 Markers may fire any rate of fire, any may shoot any number of paintballs providing that no more then 1 burst of gas is expelled from the muzzle with every pull and release of the trigger, and as long as the marker meeting the limitations within this section (section 5).

    5.2 Auto Triggers are allowed providing that they fit the marker, are working Properly, and are approved by field staff prior to game start.

    5.3 The following types of markers are only allowed to be used during any game organized by eastern upper peninsula paintball club, these include and are restricted to only they types listed here. Semi-auto markers that require the markers trigger to be pulled for each expulsion of gas from the muzzle, Pump Markers that require the marker to be cocked and the trigger pulled for each expulsion of gas from the muzzle.

    5.4 Markers must be from a known manufacturer and cannot be home made. All markers will be approved by field staff prior to each game.

6.0 Eliminations

6.1 Any time a player meets any of these elimination rules they are to insert their barrel plug into there muzzle and hold their marker upright with their barrel pointing into the air and return to the safety area/staging area.

    6.2 Any time a paintball HITS and BREAKS on a player or on their equipment they are wearing, that player is eliminated from play.

    6.2A Any time a player has at least 5 cubic inches or more of solid paint the player is considered out. (Example: Paint received from a grenade, mine, etc..)(added 06/05/2005)

    6.3 Any time a player says the word "OUT", "HIT", or "DEAD" they are eliminated from play.

    6.4 Any time a player surrenders voluntary (otherwise known as mercy) they are eliminated from play. Players within 10 feet or less must take the mercy offered.

    6.5 Eliminated players are not permitted to communicate with other non-eliminated players while still in the combat zone.

    6.6 Eliminated players are not permitted to interfere with the course of the game nor are they allowed to return to the combat zone unless predefined prior to the game start.

    6.7 Eliminated players are expected to act in such a way that other non- eliminated players know they are eliminated (by word or gesture), until the eliminated player has exited the combat zone.

    6.8 Eliminated Players are expected to keep in mind that they may be hit, after being eliminated, if they are not displaying behavior as defined in Rule 6.7. It’s the eliminated players responsibility to exit the combat zone in a rapid, interference-free and "pain free" manner, not the players still actively playing.

7.0 Game Rules

    7.1 Players will be briefed on the format of the game being played, the time limit, the elimination rules, and any special rules/restrictions by field staff prior to each game or series of games begin.

    7.2 Attack/Defend Games: The defending team loses in the event that there bunker that they are guarding is taken by the opposing team, or their entire team is eliminated.

    7.3 Capture the Flag Games: A team loses when their flag is captured, or when their entire team is eliminated. Also during capture the flag games, in the event that the player carrying the flag is hit, that player must drop the flag immediately. Another additional rule in capture the flag games, the flag must be carried so that it is fully exposed and cannot be rolled up or hidden under clothing or inside equipment. Also Flag points where the flag starts at the beginning of the game cannot be changed without the permission of field staff.

    7.4 Down Pilot Games: The Pilot rescue team wins when they safely return the pilot to the staging area without the pilot being eliminated. Also during Down Pilot games the Pilot may not carry nor use a marker.

    7.5 Team Splat Match Games: A team wins in team splat match game when all of the members of the opposing team is eliminated.

8.0 General Conduct and Sportsmanship

    8.1 Identify your targets prior to firing. In the event that a team member shoots another team member on purpose by it being a direct shot the player hit is out.

    8.2 In the event that a player calls "PAINT CHECK" no player may fire at the player who called paint check until the player verifies the check and verbally informs the other players with range of that player if he/she has been eliminated or not. Also during this time the player who called paint check cannot move more then 2 feet in each direction and opponents within range of hearing the paint check may not advance on the player who called paint check. Any player's that fire on a player who called paint check and has not verbally verified the check yet is eliminated.

    8.3 Bunker Buzzing is rushing a bunker without the players inside the bunker know you are coming, experienced players should only attempt this. Make sure you offer surrender during bunker buzzing.

    8.4 You must offer surrender to players within 20 feet or less from your position (otherwise known as mercy)

9.0 Discipline

    9.1 Disciplinary actions will be taken for any of the following: Flagrant disregard for safety, Repeated safety infractions, Any form of cheating, Arguing with field staff, Abusive behavior, and conduct unbecoming a member of eastern upper peninsula paintball club.

    9.2 Disciplinary actions (minor infractions): Offending players will not be permitted in one or two games.

    9.3 Disciplinary Actions (repeating minor infractions & major infractions): Offending players will be told to leave for the remainder of the day. Any player who is told to leave shall be under review by the club board of directors.

    9.4 Any board member shall decide disciplinary actions concerning non-members. Their respective commander shall decide disciplinary actions concerning members.

    9.5 Visitors and former members that have been banned as a result of disciplinary actions from eastern upper peninsula paintball club and/or any of its chapter clubs, and that wish to join/rejoin which ever club they belonged to or wished to join must submit a letter to the board of directors of the eastern upper peninsula paintball club as to why they should be allowed to rejoin the club and/or any of its chapter clubs. The letter will be read out loud at a quarterly meeting and the club as a whole will make a decision where the previously banned member/visitor will need 80% of the members present yes votes.

    9.6 Members may receive disciplinary actions of but not limited to: Rank Demotions, Suspensions, Taking away points, Banishment, Loss of Benefits, etc….

10.0 Club Equipment and Uses for such equipment

    10.1 This section is to cover all rules associated with club equipment including but not limited to Club co2 fill station, club chronograph and any equipment deemed club owned by the club board of directors.

    10.2 The club co2 fill station is to only be operated by members that have the permission of the club board of directors.

    10.3 The club chronograph is to only be operated by the club members in checking and setting the markers maximum velocity.

    10.4 The club members are limited to a maximum of X c02 fills per day totaling no more then 40oz of co2 where X is any combination of co2 tanks. Club members that need more then the limited 40 oz of co2 in one day will need to pay for it according to 10.5

    10.4.1 The Club will only fill co2 tanks for club members only for no charge to the limits defined in 10.4

    10.5 The club will fill non-club members at the following charges. All prices listed are in US Dollars.

12.0 Command Structure, Ranks & Achievements

    12.1 Beginning as of March 15th, 2006 the Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club shall have ranks for all members, These ranks shall be defined by experience with the club and will serve as a chain of command for the club in addition these ranks will be achievements for the members which will grant extra privileges as a member reaches higher in the ranks.

    12.2 All Existing members of the Eastern Upper Peninsula Paintball Club with memberships that started prior to the rank rules starting will have there points prorated back to the start of their membership with the club. In addition all Founding members will start with 5000 points. 

    12.3 The ranks shall consist of (in order from lowest to highest) Private, Private First Class, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Sergeant First Class, Master Sergeant, Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major, Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, & General. 

    12.4 In order for a member to reach a higher rank, the member must meet the requirements for the specific rank.

    12.5 Members having any issues shall attempt to resolve their issue with the next highest ranking member where feasible, If issue is not resolved the member will go on to the next highest rank and so on. 

    12.6 Each Rank shall have a set points level that must be achieved by a said member for that member to reach that rank. Experience points shall be obtained by the following ways. A member’s said commander must approve all achievement of points.

    12.6.1 Members receive 10 points for attending a game hosted by the club (limit 1 per week). 

    12.6.2 Members receive 10 points for attending a club meeting. (Limit 2 per week). 

    12.6.3 Members receive 5 points per month for actively holding a seat on a club committee. 

    12.6.4 Members receive 10 Points for attending a club practice session. (Limit 1 per week). 

    12.6.5 Members receive 10 points for participating in a club promotional event (example: parade, booth, etc..). 

    12.6.6 Members receive 20 points for participating in a field work session. 

    12.6.7 Members shall receive a bonus of 50 points by only awarded by the club president and only one bonus award shall be issued per month. 

    12.6.8 Members shall receive 25 points if another member of higher rank recommends the said member for promotion. 

    12.7 Members may recommend another member for promotion but they may only recommend 1 member per year for promotion unless they are the said members commander.  

    12.8 Rank Achievements will be awarded Quarterly in the year.
